The diorama measures approximately 33″ wide by 10″ deep x 6″ high – possibly suitable for locating on a bookshelf.

The model represents a bus station adjacent to a shopping centre – the entrance to the mall is at the left hand end. The wall of the centre has large advertising posters (a selection is provided)

There are seven bus bays. The model includes a public toilet block, bus information office and a long passenger shelter with benches.

Vehicles and figures are not included.

The Morden extension of the Northern Line was opened in 1926. All of the stations on this part of the line were designed by Charles Holden and have a portland stone ‘folding screen’ that frames the Bullseye window. At Morden the screen becomes a flat wall signifying the end of the line – other stations are sited on corner sites with the screen folding around the corner.

The building has been changed and adapted since it first opened with the canopy being extended and then in the sixties an office block was built above. The forecourt of the station has always been a busy bus station, and has consequently appeared as the backdrop in many photographs of London buses. The model is approximately 27″ wide.

Based upon a tyre centre in Nottinghamshire, this model can be built in either of two brandings. The building has a footprint of approximately 9″ x 5″.

Whilst non-operational, the two inspection ramps may be built either ‘up’ or ‘down’. The building is a full model, not half relief

Redbridge Station was designed by Charles Holden for the postwar Central Line extension. The tracks below the station are just 16 feet below the ground and run under the A12 Eastern Avenue. During the war years the tunnels were used to manufacture aircraft components.

The model occupies a footprint approximately 10″ by 11″.

This model is based on the Midlothian , Sheriffhall terminal building in Edinburgh, standing in a large car park at the terminus of a commuter bus route. It could serve as a similar facility anywhere in the UK, or perhaps as a bus station.

Kingsway, 00 scale, SHS Southdown Handcross dormy bus shed model, Ready-Made

Southdown had many small bus depots – commonly known as dormy sheds, which would house one or two buses, to avoid long journeys of ‘dead running’ back to a larger garage.

This full relief model of Handcross is approximately 6″ deep by 4″ wide, and will hold two vehicles. The doors may be folded and posed open or closed, and the interior has some simple detail.

The kit now includes alternative red doors and a plain front wall panel. These enable it to represent the shed of an alternative bus company, or maybe a rural fire station.

Based on a still existing building in Wandsworth Road, South London, this postal delivery office is modelled fully on all sides, although the rear is just plain brick.

The length of the sorting hall has been slightly reduced from the original, in order to make a more manageable model, but with the extra walling included a yard can be added in which to display the range of Royal Mail vehicles that are now available from the classic Morris Minors to modern Ford Transits.

The building (without the yard) measures approximately 11.5″ by 7″.

This art deco bus station still stood until demolished in 2015. The full relief model shows it in it’s heyday with canopies in place. These have a stepped design to allow for the gentle gradient of the site.

The model is viewable from all sides, and includes paving creating an island approximately 8″ x 17″.

Current production of this model has a weathered concrete roof.

This bus depot / station is modelled on the one at Uckfield, Sussex. The full relief depot will accommodate six vehicles and has doors that may be positioned open or closed.

Bus station facilities – cafe, conveniences , shelter are positioned alongside the building. The whole model has a footprint approximately 10″ square.

Although based on a Southdown prototype, alternative signage is included in the kit, so that it could be used for any bus company.

This version has LED lights, lighting the office on the left and the garage

Streatham was opened by the LGOC in 1913. It has housed most of the main London vehicle types from the B type onwards, including STLs RTs, and Routemasters. In the mid-eighties, the garage was rebuilt, but it was then closed for good in 1992. The half-relief model depicts the building as it was during LT days and is approximately 20″ wide by 6.5″ deep. The model has some interior wall detail.
